3. Saathi – Companion for SHG’s
SHGs or Self-Help Groups are exclusive groups that started primarily to empower women in rural and suburban areas, make them economically independent. Saksham helps them from conceptualizing of SHG to the formation and the way to smooth functioning; we also facilitate SHG for adequate banking access and also educate the group members on bank procedures, other schemes, and banking programs. Also, spread awareness among SHGs on new & existing government schemes.
Sahaye, the meaning companion in Hindi, was initiated 10 years back even when Saksham was not founded. It was to address these challenges through a simple yet effective approach were SHGs focus on women with the confidence that they could create a change in a more rapid way. They are formed with the intention to give these women confidence and the skills to form, manage, and build a sustainable community to take care of their livelihoods and grow holistically.
