Who We Are

“Saksham” is registered in the year 2017 as a Charitable Trust in India dedicated to the holistic development of underprivileged women who have enormous potential but are deprived of opportunity and facilities within the family or in society, whether it is of a village or city, We have observed that to change the face of the country we require a wise, daring and responsible approach so Via “Saksham”, we will try to nurture such people to a level in which they can live empowered and fulfilled lives.

Saksham believes in empowerment as a women’s ability to understand, articulate, and seek solutions for one’s own problems. This includes the right to take decisions, independence to do what she likes, have control over their income, increased status within the family and community and ability to articulate their issues publicly.

Women have a distinct role to play in the development of the nation. In the role of mother, a woman shapes the personality and character of children and hence the ‘character of the nation’. As a wife, she maintains the productivity of the human capital of making a contribution to the economy of the nation. Apart from this a woman herself represents a unit of human capital and is, therefore, capable of making a contribution to the economy of the nation.

Saksham Charitable Trust is dedicated to impacting the lives of women disadvantaged by social or economic circumstances.
